Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering started functioning from the academic year 1998 for B. Tech course. The department offers 4 years undergraduate program and 2 years postgraduate program and lays stress on all round development of the students as well as faculty and laboratory staff by providing them conducive academic environment and necessary infrastructure for carrying out academic and research work. The sense of self discipline and responsibility is inculcated in the students and staff. The department has distinguished faculty, most of them holding Ph.D. degrees.

The Department obtained UGC-Autonomous Status in the year 2014 and is running the program successfully meeting all the requirements. The College Academic Council, Board of Studies of the department strive to provide quality education and most advanced curriculum and syllabus to make the students industry ready and excel in the contemporary business world. The B.Tech Program under Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1998 and has been playing a vital role in producing value-based professionals ever since. The department offers an undergraduate program in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with an intake of 60 to cater to the ever-challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas such as Power systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, Robotics & Drones, and also in the emerging areas of electrical engineering such as Renewable Power Generation, Smart Grids, Electric & Hybrid Vehicles. The B.Tech. program under the department has been continuously accredited and re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) since 2013 and Under Tier-I in 2019. The most recent NBA accreditation, in 2022, was under TIER I.

The Department conducts regular seminars, guest lectures, workshops and technical symposiums on latest technologies for the benefit of student and faculty community.The College Academic Council (AC) and Board of Studies (BoS) of the department strive to provide quality education with the most advanced curriculum for both UG and PG programmes with a vision to provide quality education to the students and make them excel in the domain of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

With research proficiency, deep sense of commitment and ethics, the Department has a thriving research program with externally funded projects. Faculty are also engaged in providing engineering consultancy for industrial entities. The research output in terms of quality journal publications and patents, has been steadily increasing in recent years. The students of the department benefit from this thriving R&D culture which provides them with an exposure to the state of the art research facilities and cutting-edge technologies to meet the industry requirements and challenges of society.

Functions

Some of the functions expected of the IQAC are :

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) for the institution is based on the quality parameters and assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body, such as NAAC, in accordance with the guidelines and parameters set by NAAC. The report is to be submitted to NAAC in the prescribed format
  • Bi-annual development of Quality Radars (QRs) and Ranking of Integral Unites of institution based on the AQAR
  • Interaction with SQACs in the pre and post accreditation quality assessment, sustenance and enhancement endeavours

Follow Up
  • The AQAR shall be approved by the statutory bodies of the institution for the follow up action for necessary quality enhancement measures.
  • The institution shall regularly submit its AQARs to NAAC.
  • The Institution shall submit AQARs and / or Quality Radars (QRs) and follow up reports of AQARs to the UGC as and when called for.
  • The IQAC must create its exclusive window on its institutional website, to regularly report on its activities as well as for hosting the AQAR.

Madanapalle Institute of Technology & Science is established in 1998 in the picturesque and pleasant environs of Madanapalle and is ideally located on a sprawling 26.17 acre campus on Madanapalle - Anantapur Highway (NH-205) near Angallu, about 10km away from Madanapalle.

MITS, originated under the auspices of Ratakonda Ranga Reddy Educational Academy under the proactive leadership of Late Sri. N. Krishna Kumar M.S. (U.S.A), the then President and Dr. N. Vijaya Bhaskar Choudary, Ph.D., Secretary & Correspondent of the Academy.
