Teaching & Learning Center

About Teaching and Learning Centre

The present education system focuses only on the domain knowledge of teachers. It does not focus on the importance of teaching and learning process, pedagogical content and its tools which are very vital to increase the quality of learning experience in higher education.

Since its inception in 1998, MITS Madanapalle has ensured a resourceful teaching environment where holistic development of students is facilitated through effective teaching and learning process.

The Higher Education has been changing due to rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The high quality of content is available almost free of cost and it is challenging to capture the attention and imagination of students in the class room.

There is a strong need to connect three vital elements of education viz. faculty, students, teaching and learning process. Thus, there is a strong need to understand the role of a teacher and students, so that ICT can leverage to facilitate effective teaching and learning process, which is necessary in the present scenario. In the present scenario, it is essential for the teaching faculty to hone their existing skills, develop new skills, and learn the art, philosophy and science of teaching so that the teaching and learning process becomes more enjoyable, creative and productive, for both the teachers and students.

MITS Madanapalle always strives for an Academic Excellence. In view of this objective, the Institute has set up Teaching and learning Centre (acronym TLC) to enhance the teaching and learning process for the development of students’ learning abilities and also to enhance the effective teaching of the faculty. The TLC will carry out research on innovative teaching pedagogy, collection of best practices of teaching and learning from all over the world and disseminate among the faculty, conduct intensive teaching workshops and Faculty Development Programmes. Also, TLC invites experts from India and abroad to deliver lectures on relevant topics.

The focus on teaching and learning process will engage teachers towards the student concern, attention and interest. This will make the educational programme more meaningful and socially relevant. Proposed TLC assumes importance in the context of learner centred approaches, ICT integrated learning and recent researches in new pedagogic approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. Above all, the TLC will create an educational environment where faculty and students are academically challenged, actively engaged, and personally supported to enhance their knowledge and skills.
