Dr. Sai Kumar.V is having a professional career
with over 18 years of academic and industry
experience, of which more than 12 years is in academic administration. He was awarded a Doctor
of
Philosophy degree from Rayalaseema University, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. He holds a Master
of
Technology degree in VLSI Design from Vellore Institute of Technology University, Vellore, Tamil
Nadu, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from
Periyar
University, Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Sai Kumar’s areas of expertise include VLSI, Micro and
Nano Electronics, IC Fabrication, Image
Processing, Neural Networks, and Computer Vision Techniques. Throughout his career, he has made
significant contributions to research, having published research papers, filed multiple patents,
and
participated in various faculty development and management enhancement programs. He has also
guided
numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students, helping them with their project work and
supporting them in publishing their research work.
In the academic administration
contributions, Dr. Sai Kumar has been actively involved in designing
curriculum frameworks for various undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He has played a
pivotal
role in framing academic policies, rules, and regulations for both undergraduate and
postgraduate
degree programs. During his tenure at MITS, Madanapalle, he served as Assistant Controller of
Examinations and Controller of Examinations (I/c) under Autonomous status. In the capacity of
the
Controller of Examinations(I/c) for the MITS Deemed to be University, Madanapalle, he was
instrumental in developing examination policies, bringing several examination reforms and
digitalization of various examination procedures.
He has also been involved in the UGC's
initiative for the digitalization of academic credentials, the
Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) through the National Academic Depository (NAD) platform. With
over 11
years of experience in managing the examination process, he has consistently ensured strict
compliance with regulatory guidelines while improving examination procedures and safeguarding
the
integrity and security of examinations.
He is also the NEP 2020 Cell Coordinator. Through
the NEP Cell, various NEP initiatives like multiple
entry multiple exit, dual degree programs, Academic Bank of Credits were suggested to be
incorporated into the curriculum of various under and post graduate degree programs.
Additionally,
he is also the NEP SAARTHI (Student Ambassador for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher
Education
in India) Coordinator launched by University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote the NEP 2020
initiatives. He has coordinated the UGC nominated NEP SAARTHI’s in successfully implementing the
monthly activity calendar to promote NEP 2020 Initiatives in the student and faculty
fraternity.
