Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Program
Established in the year 1998, the
department offers B. Tech program in Electronics and
Communication Engineering. After four years,in 2002, the
department got approval for the M. Tech program from
A.I.C.T.E. A team of highly qualified senior faculty
with specializations in communication systems, Microwave
Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image
Processing, VLSI and Embedded Systems, run the courses.
The Objective of the department, right from its
inception is to provide high quality man power, as well
as technical inputs, primarily to meet the requirements
of Indian Industries and R & D establishments both in
India and Abroad. The department is adopting its
curriculum, laboratories to stay abreast of Electronics
and related areas.
The department is regularly conducting seminars,
guest lectures, workshops and technical symposiums on
latest technologies. Apart from the curriculum the
department has a project development centre to impart
the real and practical technical skills to the students.
The department has been in the fore front for research
and training activities in Embedded Systems, Digital
Image Processing, Digital Signal Processing,
Cryptography and Network Security.
The Department has the best undergraduate program required for the Civil Industry. The course curriculum for the undergraduate program gives the flexibility to the students to prepare for advanced specializations. The department offers a set of electives so that students can plan their academic program in advance. The course structure provides a right mix of compulsory and elective courses.
Curriculum
The B.Tech Program is divided into two distinct parts. A student has to go through a common program called Core Curriculum. Most of the core curriculum is completed in the first four semesters. The last four semesters have a large number of professional courses, that initiates the student to topics in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Professional Curriculum consists of courses and Project Work. There are some compulsory courses, but there is a significant number of professional electives as well.

Master of Technology (M.Tech) Program
The Department has the best postgraduate program required for the core industries in Electronics. The course curriculum for the postgraduate program gives the flexibility to the students to prepare for advanced specializations. The department commits to offer a set of electives so that students can plan their academic program in advance. The course structure provides a right mix of compulsory and elective courses.
Curriculum
In the M.Tech Program a student has to go through a common core curriculum. Most of the core curriculum is completed in first two semesters. The last two semesters, students have to give a seminar on any advanced topic related to Electronics and Communication areas and submit a report on the same. In addition, students are to work on an individual project in their field of interest. Each student will be allotted to experienced faculty members for guidance, based on their chosen field for the project. During this project period, each student must submit three status reports indicating their project progress along with final thesis report at their final review. Each student has to publish one or two research papers on their project or attend any conferences as a part of the curriculum.

Development Programs (FDPs) and Workshops every academic
year for the faculty members to upgrade with the latest
developments. These programs included laboratory
activities in addition to regular theory sessions in
order to acquire hands on practical experience. Resource
persons for these programs are brought from reputed
institutions and research industries across the globe to
share their knowledge. Faculty participants from various
colleges and universities throughout India attend these
programs to gain and share their valuable knowledge.
These programmes are conducted on various research
fields particularly in Embedded Systems, Digital Image
Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Cryptography and
Network Security are mostly covered in these programs.
Apart from this, faculty are encouraged to participate in
FDPs, Workshops and other training programmes conducted
by Institutions worldwide.
National Conferences for both Under Graduate and Post Graduate Students as well as for the Faculty are organized by the department every academic year to help them with their career endeavours in their respective fields of interest.

Achievements
-
The highly qualified MITS's faculty are very active in curricular activities. Each faculty participates in faculty development programs (FDPs) to upgrade with latest developments and to acquire hands on practical experience. Also, faculty actively involves National and International FDPs held by the department. The experienced faculty of the department develops new curriculum to meet the students requirements and College objectives. Each faculty maintains a course file consisting of assignments, question papers, handouts, performance, and feedback. ECE department is active in research activities particularly in Embedded Systems, Digital Image Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Cryptography and Network Security. Each faculty publishes in reputed journals and make presentations at national / international conferences.
- ECE students are active and they participate in curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Illuminates, a departmental program conceived and conducted by students is very popular for increasing the technical and communication skills. It is regular feature that ECE students participate in various technical symposiums being held in the state and country and return with prizes and certificates. The majority of the students of ECE department have participated in paper presentations, project exhibitions and other activities like sports and cultural activities. The project work of final year students brings out innovation and addresses the needs of the common man. They also participate in the social service events such as NSS, blood donation, go-green, teach-the-neighbor, etc. A strong MITS's alumni, spread across the country, are serving in several organizations.
